about

I'm a writer, a fiction and film fanatic, an animal lover, a Seattleite from the midwest, and a lover of the outdoors and simple living. I love rainy days and traveling, hiking, cooking, & playing piano.

I have an MFA in creative writing from Lesley University.

During an MFA residency, one of my writing mentors said something like "In great storytelling, everything rhymes with everything else," a very ecological statement that I believe applies to life, too, even though we sometimes can't hear the rhyme. This blog is an eclectic collection of my thoughts, experiences, and interests. You'll find everything from cooking, to writing, to animals, to travel, to trivia, to religion, and yet, everything rhymes.

I'm a freelance writer, copyeditor, and proofreader.  I have also tutored high school and undergraduate English and writing and taught graduate-level fiction seminars and courses.
